MVEF Realigns Staffing to Put More Into Mission

Three new roles strengthen how we serve students, educators, and our community

For 20 years, the Mt. Vernon Education Foundation has worked with Mt. Vernon Community School Corporation to fund ideas public budgets can’t reach: classroom grants, workforce pathways, staff appreciation, and programs that help students see what’s possible.

As our programs have grown, so has the work behind them. This fall, MVEF is realigning its staffing so that every hour and every dollar does more for students and teachers.

What’s changing

We’re building a leaner, more specialized team around three roles:

  • Office Coordinator (part-time employee). This person is the administrative anchor of the Foundation, and the first friendly voice donors, teachers, and families reach. They’ll manage our systems, donor records, classroom grant cycle, and event logistics.
  • Bookkeeper (contracted). Outsourcing bookkeeping gives us specialized nonprofit accounting expertise, timely financial reporting for our board, and strong financial controls.
  • Digital Content & Storytelling Specialist (contracted). This person brings MVEF’s impact to life through social media, our monthly MVEF Matters newsletter, graphics, and a growing video presence, so our community sees the difference their giving makes.

Why it matters

Pairing one dedicated in-house role with contracted specialists gives MVEF professional-level skills where they count most. It also frees our Executive Director to focus on fundraising, partnerships, and the long-term strategy that keeps Mt. Vernon schools strong.

Nothing about our mission changes. We’re ensuring our structure keeps pace.
