EDUCATION DRIVES HANCOCK: The Power of Four in Action

Four Hancock County Education Foundations Unite for County-Wide Fundraising & Awareness Campaign in Partnership with Major Saver

[Hancock County, IN] — From April 3rd to April 17th, the four education foundations serving Hancock County—Greenfield Central Education Foundation, New Palestine Education Foundation, Eastern Hancock Education Foundation, and Mt. Vernon Education Foundation—are launching a united fundraising and awareness campaign titled EDUCATION DRIVES HANCOCK: The Power of Four in Action. This two-week initiative, in partnership with Major Saver, aims to support students, strengthen schools, uplift local businesses, and highlight the critical link between education and workforce development.

A Digital Card with Real Value

Community members can support this initiative by purchasing a $15 electronic Major Saver discount card, which provides access to a wide variety of buy-one-get-one-free offers and generous discounts at dozens of local and regional businesses. The digital card is easy to use and always accessible from your phone through the Major Saver app or website.

The value far exceeds the cost—most users make their money back within one or two uses, and continue saving throughout the year while supporting Hancock County schools.

Best of all, proceeds from each card benefit the school district from which it was purchased. That means every card sold directly supports local students, programs, and classrooms—keeping resources in the community where they matter most.

Purchase cards online at http://msvr.co/MTVEF  Mt. Vernon Education Foundation, or through participating MV students or other county foundations listed below.

Why This Campaign Matters: Education Is the Backbone of Our Community

Education is not just about grades and graduation—it’s about preparing students to become tomorrow’s workforce, innovators, and community leaders. Local education foundations play a critical role in that mission by funding innovative programs, resources, and support services that go beyond traditional budgets.

From STEM enrichment and reading programs to mental health resources and teacher innovation grants, these foundations help ensure students are equipped with the tools they need to thrive in school—and in life.

Education = Economic Strength

  • Well-prepared students become a skilled workforce
  • Local businesses benefit from educated, job-ready talent
  • Thriving schools help attract and retain families and companies in Hancock County

The Power of Four – United for Impact

This is the first time all four Hancock County education foundations have joined forces for a shared initiative. The campaign theme, The Power of Four in Action, reflects the strength of collaboration and the belief that together, we can accomplish more.

Each foundation continues to serve its own district—but by working as one, they:

  • Demonstrate the strength of county-wide collaboration
  • Build public awareness about the value of education and community partnerships
  • Create a unified impact that benefits students, businesses, and families alike
