🏆 Doug True – CEO, FORUM Credit Union (1984 MV grad)

Doug True, Chief Executive Officer of FORUM Credit Union, has been a dedicated leader in the financial services industry since 1988. With a strong background in consumer lending, retail, and technology, he founded FORUM Solutions in 2000, pioneering the TAPS Lending software. Under his leadership, FORUM Credit Union has been named a Best Place to Work in Indiana every year since 2011. In 2014, the Forum Foundation was established to award classroom grants and collegiate scholarships in central Indiana. $1.5M has been awarded to date.

🏆 Bill McCleery – Senior Writer, Indiana Attorney General’s Office (1989 MV grad)

Bill McCleery, Senior Writer for the Indiana Attorney General’s Office, has dedicated his career to journalism and public service. An award-winning former Indianapolis Star reporter and editorial writer for over two decades, he has shaped public discourse through impactful storytelling. His criminal justice reporting was a catalyst for a legislative change in 2015. Beyond his career, Bill is a passionate advocate for Parkinson’s awareness, having been diagnosed in 2021. He has recently helped launch the inaugural Hoop It For Parkinson’s – exhibition games held at the National Institute for Fitness and Sport (NIFS) including players with Parkinson’s.

The Mt. Vernon Distinguished Alumni Awards recognize graduates whose deeds and character exemplify excellence in both their professional and personal endeavors. Honorees are selected for their lasting contributions to society and their ability to inspire future generations of Mt. Vernon graduates.

This year’s winners will be formally recognized at the “A Million Dreams” Mt. Vernon Education Foundation Gala on April 12, 2025, at the Indiana Roof Ballroom. This highly anticipated event celebrates excellence, philanthropy, and the continued success of the Mt. Vernon community.
