Seeking 2023 MVHigh School Senior Pursuing A Bachelor Degree in Elementary Education

Description:  Stephanie was a fifth-grade teacher at McCordsville Elementary. She was absolutely adored by her students, friends, and family. Her spirit, her smile, and her love for others are what should live on in our future teachers. In honor of Stephanie, those that loved her established a scholarship fund to aid students pursuing an elementary education career.

Qualifications: Applicants must be 1.) a graduating student of Mt. Vernon High School; 2.) plans to pursue a bachelor’s degree in elementary education; 3.) have a minimum grade point average of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale.

Selection Criteria: Selection will be based on a written essay (30%), community service (30%), extracurricular activity (20%), and financial need (20%).

Supporting Materials Required: 300-500-word essay explaining how the student intends to continue Steph’s spirit and love of others through their pursuit of a teaching vocation. Two letters of recommendation (only one can be from the school). FAFSA report information is required.
