The Mt. Vernon Education Foundation was pleased to support this program that will encourage MV students to be engaged in reading this summer in a fun and engaging way!
This summer, Superintendent Dr. Parker is partnering with the Fortville-Vernon Township Public Library to host a Summer Book Bonanza! Dr. Parker wants to share his love of reading with Mt. Vernon students and connect with them this summer through a book club.
There will be 25 Mt. Vernon students from each age grouping (K-1, 2-3, 4-5, 6-7, & 8-11) randomly selected to participate, but parents need to register their child into the drawing HERE no later than May 28. The winners will receive a free copy of the chosen summer reading book (sponsored by the Mt. Vernon Education Foundation) to read at home. The selected 25 for each grade grouping will meet with Dr. Parker for a “book club meeting” at the Fortville-Vernon Township Public Library in July.
