Powering Student Possibility Building Possibility: Walmart Reverse Supply Chain Gift Fuels Creativity, Innovation, and Excellence
The Mt. Vernon Education Foundation is proud to announce a transformative donation from Walmart’s Reverse Supply Chain program — seven pallets of LEGO sets that will now serve students across the district in meaningful and forward-thinking ways.

This gift represents more than materials for play. It is an investment in creativity, innovation, and excellence — core pillars of the Foundation’s mission.
Through hands-on, experiential learning, LEGO becomes a catalyst for imagination and applied problem-solving. In elementary classrooms, students will strengthen literacy through storytelling and build and deepen mathematical understanding through patterns, ratios, and spatial reasoning. At the intermediate and middle school levels, LEGO supports engineering design challenges, collaboration, and systems thinking. In high school classrooms, these materials can serve as rapid prototyping tools — allowing students to test ideas, refine concepts, and develop innovation skills aligned with future career pathways.
Hands-on learning builds resilience, critical thinking, and confidence. It allows students to experiment, iterate, and pursue excellence — not by memorizing answers, but by discovering solutions.
This donation directly advances the Foundation’s commitment to equipping students with the tools they need to imagine boldly, think creatively, and perform at high levels.
